Regarding sadaqa Allah ta ala says in Quran

Surely the men and women who give sadaqah and have put forth a good loan to Allah (SWT); for them it will be multiplied and for them there is a noble reward.” – (57:18)

So we see here that Allah multiplies for us when we give sadaqa

And Allah says

Shaytaan threatens you with “poverty” and commands you to shameful deeds (stinginess), while Allah promises you forgiveness and ˹great˺ bounties from Him. And Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing. (2:268)

ALLAH SAYS

Allah wipes out interest (makes it fruitless) and increases charity (makes it fruitful). And Allah does not like any ungrateful evildoer. (2:276)

So what we learn from these 2 aayaat is that although outwardly spending money in sadaqa seems to decrease our wealth, make us poor

but through it Allah grants us taqwa, respect and baraka in our wealth and life

And Shaytaan will make you think u shud hoard your wealth, not give sadaqah

outwardly our wealth may increase, but in reality, there is absolutely no barakah in that wealth or in our life

Benefits and importance of Sadaqah

ETTIQUETTE GIVING Sadaqah

Etiquettes that should be followed are:

  1. Sadaqah should be from the givers loved possessions, shouldnt give from the things which you dont like urself, the torn clothes, old food

Allah says

You will never achieve righteousness until you spend some of what you love. And whatever you give is certainly well known to Allah. (3:92)

Allah says

O you who have believe, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not intend the bad therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes. (2:267)

  1. The intentions behind giving Sadaqah should be pure,
  2. It is better to offer Sadaqah in secret,
  3. And Sadaqah should be given from your own property and possessions

Different ways and forms of giving Sadaqah

1.

Giving Sadaqah can be as simple as making dua for someone, regardless of whether you r making dua for a loved one or a stranger

2.

Spreading ilm amongst the community or those who can’t afford to get it from somewhere else is also a form of Sadaqah.

3.

A warm genuine smile while meeting and greeting and talking to others is also a type of Sadaqah.

4. Providing help and giving time

with no expectancy of anything in return is the most generous gift anyone can give;

5. Making sure that the kids are brought up with good manners and values is an essential type of Sadaqah.

6.  Being patient is a quality that is highly essential. Being patient with others and having faith in Allah is an act of sadaqa

7. .advising and encouraging people to do good deeds and preventing them frm doing evil deeds

8.. Staying away from sin

9. Arrogance and rudeness are two things that should always be avoided. So speak kind, soft words

10.  forgiving ppl is considered Sadaqah.  this cn include also waiving off a debt owed to u.

11. Being respectful to both elders and youngsters.

12. Being happy for others without feeling envy or jealousy.

13. Visiting the sick and taking care of those in need of attention.

14. Removing harmful things from the path

such as stones or fallen branches from the road to decrease the chances of accidents.

These are all types of Sadaqah

It is narrated that Rasoolullaah (ﷺ) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to become more generous in Ramadan when jibreel met him. Jibreel used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Qur’an with him. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) then used to be more generous than the fast wind.

So we learn from this that Nabi SAW used to give sadaqa throughout the year but he increased in sadaqah in Ramadhan

So let us make intention this Ramadhaan to increase in our monetary sadaqa if we have the means and if not to increase in sadaqa by any of the means i hv mentioned and May Allah grant us taufeeq and acceptance
